Christmas Appeal
The appeal aims to bring a happy Christmas to children, families and the elderly in South Cheshire who might otherwise have a difficult festive season.
Last year over 900 children received gifts and more are expected to be registered this year.
As we approach Christmas, our volunteers will begin to organise the gifts for each family.
Young children aged eight and under will receive a stocking containing about 10 toys. They will include a main toy and a selection of smaller stocking fillers.
Children aged nine to 13 will receive stocking fillers and a voucher; whereas 14 to 16 year olds will receive a voucher and chocolates.
The Salvation Army also provides food hampers for the elderly.
Who receives the gifts?
You can register to receive a parcel if you are in receipt of Income Support or Jobseekers Allowance. Proof must be shown to the registration team at the Salvation Army in Prince Albert Street, Crewe.
How can you help?
Gifts and toys can be handed in at the Salvation Army in Prince Albert Street, Crewe or the Chronicle office at 32-34 Victoria Street, Crewe. Please remember all toys must be new.
Donations of cash are also desperately needed. This is used to buy vouchers for older children and also to buy in toys to help supplement what we receive from the public.
Thank you for all your support.
